The Deb Bailey Foundation Inc was set up to raise money for medical research aimed at finding a cure for Motor Neurone Disease (MND), a deadly, debilitating and presently incurable disease that affects the nervous system.

The Deb Bailey Foundation board members Sue Wannan and Kevin Cheung along with Professor Gilles Guillemin attended Rotary Club of Chatswood International where the club members generously donated $5,000 in support of Motor Neurone Disease Research. Professor Guillemin and his Motor Neurone Disease Research colleagues have made recent significant breakthroughs that will benefit sufferers of this dreadful disease. For some years now Debby and Mick Hayward have come down to Sydney to run / walked the City to Surf. Hailing from northern NSW, this is a great opportunity to catch up with family and friends, have some fun and support a worthy cause. World jewellery and accessory giant Bvlgari held a glittering Christmas fundraising event at their Sydney flagship store on 6th December. The event was in support of The Deb Bailey Foundation to raise funds for Motor Neurone Disease research. Thanks go to Bvlgari, and Australian Managing Director Brad Harvey, Sydney Manager, Brian Purkis, and the wonderful Bvlgari staff.

Mrs. Margie Abbott acts as Patron and supporter for numerous Australian charities. We are priveledged to have Margie as the Patron of The Deb Bailey Foundation. In March this year, Margie kindly hosted an afternoon tea at Kirribilli House that raised much needed funds for Motor Neurone Disease Research. Proceeds from sale of jewelery at the event has been handed on to the Dean of Medicine at Macquarie University to support their Deb Bailey MND Research Laboratory. The Chinese New Year of the Goat was launched in the most generous of ways when the Australian Chinese Charity Foundation held their annual New Years Dinner at the Mandarin Restaurant in Sydney. Proceeds from the night were presented to The Deb Bailey Foundation, a charity that has been supporting research into Motor Neurone Disease for over 14 years. The Prime Minister Tony Abbott and Mrs Margie Abbott and David Armstrong from the Deb Bailey Foundation attended a fundraising dinner held in Sydney by Price Waterhouse Coopers on 17th May. Hosted by Joseph Carrozzi, Managing Partner at PwC, the event raised money for The Deb Bailey Foundation's support of MND research .  The Prime Minister, a long term supporter of medical research, spoke passionately on the need to beat  Motor Neurone Disease and encouraged business and philanthropist to stand alongside Government in contributing to finding breakthroughs and a cure.
